bronze worm gear mechanism is often used to transmit motion and power between two staggered axes. bronze worm gear and worm gear are equivalent to gear and rack in the middle plane, and worm gear is similar to screw gear in shape. bronze worm gear adopts better material, excellent product, easy to use and durable. The product quality is excellent and the price is reasonable, and it is exported to Europe, America, Southeast Asia and other places.

Common problems and causes of bronze worm gear

1. Heat generation and oil leakage of reducer. In order to improve efficiency, bronze worm gear reducer generally uses non-ferrous metal to make bronze worm gear, and worm gear uses harder steel. Because it is a sliding friction transmission, more heat will be generated during operation, which will cause differences in thermal expansion between various parts and seals of reducer, thus forming gaps on various mating surfaces, and lubricating oil will become thinner due to the increase in temperature, which is easy to cause leakage.

There are four main reasons for this situation. First, the material matching is unreasonable; second, the quality of the meshing friction surface is poor; third, the amount of lubricating oil added is incorrectly selected; fourth, the assembly quality and use environment are poor.

2. bronze worm gear wear. bronze turbines are generally made of tin bronze, and the paired worm material is hardened to HRC4555 with 45 steel, or hardened to HRC5055 with 40Cr and then ground to a roughness of Ra0.8mm by a worm grinder. The reducer wears very slowly during normal operation, and some reducers can be used for more than 10 years. If the wear speed is fast, it is necessary to consider whether the selection is correct, whether it is overloaded, and the material, assembly quality or use environment of the bronze turbine worm.

3. Wear of the transmission small helical gear. It usually occurs on vertically installed reducers, which is mainly related to the amount of lubricating oil added and the type of oil. When installed vertically, it is easy to cause insufficient lubricating oil. When the reducer stops running, the transmission gear oil between the motor and the reducer is lost, and the gears cannot get the proper lubrication protection. When the reducer starts, the gears are not effectively lubricated, resulting in mechanical wear or even damage.

4. Damage to the worm bearing. When a fault occurs, even if the reducer box is well sealed, it is often found that the gear oil in the reducer is emulsified, and the bearings are rusted, corroded, and damaged. This is because after the reducer has been running for a period of time, the condensed water generated after the gear oil temperature rises and cools down is mixed with water. Of course, it is also closely related to the bearing quality and assembly process.

Common problems of bronze worm gear

1. Ensure assembly quality. You can buy or make some special tools. When disassembling and installing reducer parts, try to avoid hitting with hammers and other tools; when replacing gears and bronze worm gears, try to use original accessories and replace in pairs; when assembling the output shaft, pay attention to tolerance matching; use anti-sticking agent or red lead oil to protect the hollow shaft to prevent wear and rust or scale on the matching surface, which makes it difficult to disassemble during maintenance.

2. Selection of lubricating oil and additives. Worm gear reducers generally use 220# gear oil. For reducers with heavy loads, frequent starts, and poor use environments, some lubricating oil additives can be used to make the gear oil still adhere to the gear surface when the reducer stops running, forming a protective film to prevent heavy loads, low speeds, high torques and direct contact between metals during startup. The additive contains seal ring regulator and anti-leakage agent, which keeps the seal ring soft and elastic, effectively reducing lubricant leakage.

3. Selection of the installation position of the reducer. If the position allows, try not to use vertical installation. When installing vertically, the amount of lubricating oil added is much more than that of horizontal installation, which can easily cause the reducer to heat up and leak oil.

4. Establish a lubrication maintenance system. The reducer can be maintained according to the "five fixed" principle of lubrication work, so that each reducer has a responsible person to check regularly. If the temperature rise is obvious, exceeding 40℃ or the oil temperature exceeds 80℃, the quality of the oil is reduced, or more bronze powder is found in the oil, and abnormal noise is generated, etc., stop using it immediately, repair it in time, troubleshoot it, and replace the lubricating oil. When refueling, pay attention to the amount of oil to ensure that the reducer is properly lubricated.
